Got lost coming to LA. xD
Was supposed to ride big blue bus to Van Nuys... it ended up taking me to Union Station. LOL.
Anyway, was picked up safely by Sousuke-kun. (and therefore teased about getting lost during the duration of my stay. )
AX was fun! This was my first con in the US. :D Went with Sousuke-kun and siblings for the first day, then it was just me and Momo-chan the rest.
Got to see Moi dix Mois live. They were awesome. Interestingly enough, I just went there to watch out of curiousity... Ended up cheering anyway. LOL. They were great. <3
Went to Yun Kouga-sensei''s panel. She was fun. When asked why she used cat-ears to signify virginity in Loveless, her answer was that "Cat ears looked cute on little boys, but looked strange on the big boys, so it happened like that." xD
Also went to Toshiyuki Morikawa-san's panel. He was like a rock star or something. xD Totally used to the limelight. And he talked and shared stories a lot. (He has a pet doggie he was worried aobut leaving behind. LOL.) And someone requested a "Will you marry me?" line in Sephiroth's voice. LOL. Fangirls died. xD There were lots of fanboys too. which was interesting to watch. Voice requests and all. xP
Didn't get to go to other concerts since everything was overlapping. That, and Momo-chan and i were trying to get autographs. Out of three, we got one (Morikawa-san). The ones for Kouga-sensei and Moi dix Mois had really long lines... and even with tickets, we didn't make it--they stopped the line telling us they (sensei and band) won't be taking any more autographs. (; ^;) sad that.
For the rest of the week, we just wandered around the Dealers Room. Was broke by the end of the week. LOL. Took random pics too~ I dunno if i have a fave cosplayer that i saw, (maybe baby Mario? xD) but eveyone was cool. OH! There were 2 YOuko Kuramas! xD haha.
One regret of mine was not being able to cosplay. I don't really have anything on me, so I can't really complain. But i was in Lolita dresses for 2 days, so it wasn't too bad. :3
Spent the rest of the week with Momo-chan and Sousuke-kun and family. Randomly learned to play Rock Band. xD I still suck, but it was fun. LOL.
Oh! And it was Sousuke-kun's bday on the 5th too~ Happy Bday~ x3 and yes, my alcohol tolerance is now non-existent. saaaad. (no, i didn't get drunk. I just couldn't bring myself to drink too much. Maybe coz i ate too much? i dunno anymore. lol.)
Now I am in SF. Kinda weird coz it is sooooo quiet here. =__= Kinda boring, really. Nakakamiss kina Sousuke. Palaging may tao. Tapos masaya. T^T
Weird fact: I have no pictures of me and Momo-chan. O_o

Saisho ni itte oku… This post may contain spoilers and uber bias. I am not an expert on all Transformers Timelines, BUT I sure as heck grew up watching the whole orginal series!
( ikuze! ikuze! ikuze! )
To summarize, there are a handful of interesting points in the movie but all of these were overshadowed by the trash humor and badly written script. I feel so sad that i am not looking forward to the DVD. It had troubled me when i saw the trailer and didn't feel as excited as I was for the first movie. Watching TF II has confirmed my fears. My only consolation now is that I went home loving Movie!Soundwave. (Saw his toy first and was all 'wtf?weird!' but i now take it back. He is cool. xD)
I may have missed things here, but meh. Better to post this asap after all. A word of advice before i go, Turn Off Your Brain When You Go Watch This Movie. Or better yet, Pull The Plug to be safe. :D

Okay. So i've decided that this summer i will actually start and finish a dress. And if i can make more than 2, that would be awesome. But i kinda have a dilemma here... My first choice was the kimono/miko-esque one, then the chinese one... but well...
Keep in mind tho that it is possible to change colors/fabric. so if you have a suggestion, please tell me! :3
( So, which one do you think i should choose? )

Okay so i'm a little late with the program, but... what's up with Atobes turning into Kamen Riders? xD
I have finally watched Imperial Prescence, and out of all the versions, saw Inoue's first. I was like "why does this guy look so familiar? O_o" Thing is, I seem to be updated more with toku and sentai more than myus and dramas lately, so i've been seeing his face for the past, oh, 7-or-so episodes of KR Decade... ^^;
Anyway~ Two out of three actors have become Riders... the third guy i think may not be a Rider, BUT he has been listed to be part of KR Next cast! O_o
What's up with that? Is becoming Atobe a sort of pre-test? Like, producer-san or whoever hires the actor looks at resume/credentials and says "oh, I see you played Atobe Keigo in TeniMyu." and he gives the go signal?! xD LOL. I wonder... is it the Ore-sama status?!
Who am i talking about? These guys from TeniMyu:
Atobe 1 = Kato Kazuki = KR Drake in KR Kabuto
Atobe 2 = Kubota Yuki = cast in KR Next (haven't seen only listed on wiki)
Atobe 3 = Inoue Masahiro = KR Decade in KR Decade
It's like food-for-thought. :D
<3
On a side note, I am amused to see Aiba in Shinkenger. LOL.

the last time i remember having shoulder-length hair was back in my sophomore (or was it junior?) year in HS. i know i got my hair cut somewhere between 2001 and 2004, but i can't be sure anymore... (always had braids, and that's kinda hard to do with short hair xD)
anyway.
it has been a good, i dunno, 8 years? i've been waiting for the moment when i'll get tired of my long hair--again.
Again, meaning, back in HS, i had pretty much the same length of hair (down to my hips) even longer i think. Then i just had it all cut off. And the next day, shocked my classmates and 2 sections over. XD ("OMG?! WHAT HAPPENED?!" or variations of "NoooOOoOOoo!!" and one person clearly said "Now i won't have anything to braid/play with! *sadface*" ^^; )
Oh, now i remember... i don't think i had my hair short when i was in UP. coz i got more death threats everytime i'd mention anything about haircuts. xD
so, hair is--was--up to hips. then hair go byebye. :D
see how much i cut off?! :O

i can't stop running my hands through my SHOULDER-LENGTH hair now. LOL. <3
(i kept the parts of the front which i had cut short--when my hair was long. so, front parts are now longer than the rest. kinda hard to imagine, huh? got annoyed, cut it off. ^^; lolz)
random tangent:
back in elementary (somewhere bet. 3rd~6th, can't remember which, but it was during the time Rayearth was being shown) we used to play tag "Rayearth version". Joyce had Umi-hair, although short, so she was Umi. Ricci didn't have long hair, but she was Hikaru and I was Fuu (i wore a headband). Interestingly enough i didn't have glasses back then. Now tho, it's kinda funny to have short hair AND actually have glasses. xP
random mythological relation:
the cutting of hair has always been something of a ritual or symbol. from being 'a woman's pride', to an ingredient in mixing potions, a person's hair has always played an important role in myth and culture. in some places/religions, cutting of hair is forbidden. in others, cutting of hair is a ritual, rite of passage (into adulthood) or signifies cutting of ties (to the past, family, etc.).
add: momo-chan reminded me about hair cutting = a new start. :3
there is also the belief of hair being a container of power (and not just for Samson, mind you) and cutting it takes away that power or decreases it. interestingly, there is also belief that having long hair decreases ones vitality/health.
keeping or exchanging hair from a loved one and keeping it in a pouch/container near you at all times is also believed to keep a connection between you and that person--safety, luck, love, etc. there is also superstition about being able to use someone's hair to curse someone (or make a love potion: aka specific-person aphodesiac).
Oh, and this is the first time i've actually cut (not just trim) my own hair. i kinda wish one of my friends back home were around to do it instead. ^^;
goodbye tentacle braids~ i will miss you~ *waves 'kerchief*
Yo-tan: whoa~ we have the same length hair now! :)
neko: oooh~ <3
Aya-mama: NOO! ;^; I won't allow it!
*neko runs away~*

err. yeah. Bearbear came after xmas...because I was away during the week of xmas...
anyway, late xmas post. xP
meet the bears (red: Puji, dk brown: Wolfie, cream-y huge: Bearbear) and Anansi, the purple spider. (Yes, I do not like spiders, but Anansi is an exeption. I found him in Chapters, his head was burried in the bin of plushies, so you could only see his round purple body with two balck dots on each side. I pulled him out in all his dangly-legged sleepy-eyed cuteness and walked with him in my arms to the cashier. xD)

omg! nekkid bear! LOL. and look! my toes! xD

(please ignore the horrendus couch cover. my uncle is to blame and i have no say as i do not pay rent. xD)
The last time I owned a 'life size' bear was maybe up to about 6yrs old... He wore blue checkered overalls, and I stil remember dancing with him and then slowly realizing that I was getting taller... He was the type of bear built to stand--he lived behind the front door, against the folding bed and other things. He was totally the opposite of Bearbear, who seems built to sit... or lie down lazily. ^^;
Anyway~ Bearbear is cuddly and soft and furry~ he fits on my bed, but then, i can't move much, so he sits on the floor beside the bed instead. :3

Our Final Project for Intro to Digital Media I last semester was to make a video using iMovie. It can be an actual film video, animation w/ Photoshop, or stop-motion animation (continuous still frames).
I chose to make a Stop-Motion Animation using a bjd (ball-jointed doll) and Shiro, the, uhm, mouse/hamster/rodent. xD And man, was it HARD! >_< My prof gave no tips whatsoever. So all i did was trial and error since I've never done this before. >_>
This is mostly conceptual: interpret-it-as-you-wish kind of thing.
All frames were taken by me, by myself. All are Still Frames in Sequence. I was using a Nikon D80 with a Tamron 28-80mm lens. And a tripod and reading lamp. Yes, a yellow-bulb reading lamp with a bendy head (Thanks uncle! xD). All props were either made or bought. Those bought come from Daiso. ;3
As rough and sketchy as this seems, I am proud of this little video. Especially of the 'drawing of the moon' part. Little smooth calligraphy there~ x3 I Photoshoped EVERY FRIGGIN' FRAME of that scene backwards. >_> (the moon was already there, just had to erase it frame-by-painful-frame.) I was so confident it would be easy... Such an idiot. LOL. Well, it looks easy, it sounds easy, BUT when actually done, reality reminds you that why yes, there are shadows on the paper you're editing. =__= AND there are shadows on the wall too! and they are moving along with the action. <--had to edit my hand out in the scenes where he's bending to reach the box. >_>
As for the model... uhm... that's Rin... he kinda had to "dress up" for me since i don't own any girl MSDs... *swtdrp* ehehe...
Music Credits/Disclaimer: Chobits, online free sounds
ANYWAY~~ Now that you know the pain I've gone through, here's the link! xD Enjoy~~
Please excuse teh grain-y-ness. >_> I do not own any webspace to upload the full quality video... T_T

this semester has been really hectic! >_< but it's been really productive, creative-wise. :3 took a Digital Media class and learned to use a mac. xD so ive sat in front of Photoshop CS3 and iMovie a lot. i've posted up some of the stuff on my DA page, if anyone is interested. i'm still debating if i want to post up my stop-motion animation on YouTube... hmmm....
in other class-related news, i took a Mythological Narratives class too. AND MY GOD WAS IT AWESOME. Ross Laird has got to be one of the most amazing people i've ever met. :) the class itself is extremely interesting and i cannot stress this enough! think about it this way: take a story, any story, and you'll be able to trace it far back to every culture ever to walk the earth. or take a concept. say, take 'the year 2008'. question: how sure are you that it IS 2008 now? our current calendar isn't accurate, and who started counting and from when? how sure are we that the events these people took to be 'the beggining of time as we know it' are accurate? time keeping or rather, the concept we have of time now is a myth. it is a convention. and most of us have forgotten that it isn't reliably real.
awesome ain't it? xD
so if you ever get the chance, take the Myth class at Kwantlen! xD (and the Digital Media one too!)
in other news non-class related... my birthday has come and gone... i'm another year older. wow. then again, i'll just forget how old i am anyway. lol. <--has literally stopped counting when she reached legal age. XD
anyway~ forgot to post my wishlist for the year. :3 hope you enjoy reading my randomness! xP

Last week (Oct 1st), Genni, my professor for CW2310 told me that i had gotten the spot for poem of the month. I was kinda like "Wha? O_o" because: a) i didn't submit anything, and b) i didn't know how to even submit for that. She goes to explain that she "took the liberty of submitting my poem, with tense correction." She had submitted other peoples' works as well, but whoever was the judge liked mine. Maybe 'coz mine was weird.. lol.
I have always been wondering how i could submit for that, so it was quite the wonderful surprise. xD There's not prize or anything like that--besides, of course, getting 2 copies of the poster. But, i think it's a good achievement. :3 Don't get me wrong, i'm really happy and proud and such, especially since i'm trying for a style of poetry that i don't usually do this semester. Funy thing is, in my other Creative Writing class (Mythological Narratives), my prof Ross announced it to everyone while our group was preparing for our presentation. ^^;;; i was like 'oh crap...*flustered*' LOL. Now i'll be all proud and fluttery when i see that poster on both campuses. xD
Anyway, i'll stop rambling now. Poem is below. :3 Those who come from the same tropical South-East Asia region or have been to a rain forest or any tropical country for that matter, will be able to relate. And honestly, i'm still very much afraid of leeches. *shudder* >_<|||
Leeches
July rains, the leeches come.
The windows are not safe:
fine wire squares cannot keep out
thier thumb-thick blackness.
Sometimes, I pretend
that the criss-crossing rainbow
ghosts on my light blue walls
are left behind by snails--
something less bizzare,
less shapeless and murky,
less blood-sucking.
My green mosquito net keeps
them out;
they stick to the light blue walls.
My brows knit, my body curls
away;
they ripple across
rainbow saliva--
I never see their mouths.
:3

My green mosquito net keeps
them out;
they stick to the light blue walls.
My brows knit, my body curls
away;
they ripple across
rainbow saliva--
I never see their mouths.

One of the most amazing things happened to me this September... it all started when GC linked Dilazirk's photocomics in her journal.
so i go and read Dila's TF photocomics, and they are totally awesome. (gods, his photoshop skillz! O_O) and i go comment and stuff...
and then this random person, makes a comment on my DA page. he is one of Dila's readers as well...

and that explains the whole 'awesome random kindness' part...
i got Mao the other day... and i'm still totally in awe. i mean, how many people do that? i may get the urge to give someone something, but wow... to actually do it? and he's not even the artist i'm watching, but just a fellow reader! *0* i think it's amazing how it all happened though.
pics for sharing~
Mao-chan gets along with the bed-plushies~ (just noticed that everyone's eyes are green! *0*) CLICK TO ENLARGE~

(L-R: Anansi, the purple cute spider; Grumpy-face, sleepy-eyed mini cat; and Cat, whose fur is uberly soft---EVER! x3)
Mao-chan also gets along with the 'big boss'! x3 CLICK TO ENLARGE~

i feel very lucky. i am also very thankful and extremely grateful. and hope that good things come to Snukastyle. this is the first time this has ever happened to me. i still don't know how to describe this feeling--it's not a hyper kind of thanks, it's an awed type of happy.

pretty girl in New Media class there is.
not that i didn't notice her the first day, but well. xD
just thought i'd mention it~
and she's an art student! x3 (why do i know? coz she showed me her drawing homework thingie this morning~)
and yes, she's pretty~
not sure if she's asian, but she kinda reminds me of the type of person to be a model for a sculpture or painting/sketch... or even poetry. she's not white skinned, i'm not good at describing, but kinda light mocha skin~ (that what came to mind when i thought about it) and as i said, she reminds me of an art model. :3 i think that's why i like her. i wonder if she does ballet or dances? she looks like the type...
but anyway~ she's really pretty!! x3
teehee~
<3
this makes me wonder though... how come there are no cute guys in class for balance? (.__.)

a friend i met at the VPL WRock performance last 24th suggested i try this Sorting Hat thing since i haven't (ever) really decided which house i preferred... fortunately, it's a Sorting Quiz i've never seen or tried before. :3
note: yes i know i'm millennia late to be deciding anything. but getting, uh, dragged into WRock does things to you. ^^; it's also a good way to force myself into finishing that scarf i planned, oh, years ago...heh.
so, anyway, i try the quiz... it's simple, amusing, and quite straightforward with the choices. very different from the other Sorting Quiz i tried before.
basically, the dilemma was/is this: Griff or Slyth? not to say i would mind getting sorted into 'Puff of Ravenclaw, but i'm not exactly smart or extremely nice >_> that and 90% of the time, my results for any quiz (beyond the ones ive linked) are always either Griff or Slyth... =___=|||
ask me in highschool, and i'd be 90%slyth... have i mellowed out in my old age? D: *coughhack*
the punch line with the new quiz?
Sorting Hat "Yes..yes... I knew your father...unfortuanely.."
i'm liek "whut?"
then it asks you which house you'd like to be in, but there is an option where you don't have to choose any of them.
And so the hat decides.... *drumroll*
Slytherin.
AND I -bleeping- CRACK UP. 8D
KEY WORDS: "I KNEW YOUR FATHER." XDDD (for those who do not know, papa--and his friends--were notorious in their day... think Marauders, or Fred&George, or maybe Draco&friends. you, know, the kind of group that does stuff, gets in trouble, and is generally misunderstood but you can't really say anything coz even if they're a good bunch, they seemed crazy to everyone. :D and yes, that bad. 8D)
primus, this is going to keep me snickering for DAYSSSS~~ *snort*
on a side note, i may re-take the quiz again when it's not 2 in the morning. 8D
