for a small theatre (240 seating capacity), it was an awesome performance. x3 the guy playing Bilbo Baggins was really, REALLY into the role. x3 and i mean, for a cast of EIGHT to be playing 28 roles between them (granted Bilbo and Thorin did not have extra roles since they were always together and almost always on the stage), it was a very, very awesome performance. and did i mention Gollum? VERY convincing voice and acting. and no, the actress--yes, girl--playing the role wasn't bald nor did she leave a slimy trail, but she DID leave an impression. ;3 (gods that voice! xD soooo Gollum-like!)
So if you are in Vancouver right now, i say GO SEE IT! (and students--yes, even us poor, struggling college kids--get a discount). x3

EXTRA:
when was the last time you bought a cd?
highschool? heck, i don't even remember. (that album from MassCom in Uni doesn't count! xD --speaking of, Tet! i still want a copy~~~)
i just got Alisha's Attic's old album Illumina in the mail today. i remember being half-desperate and quite frustrated that i couldn't find this album at the local music store all those years ago... ah~ such limited resources then!
i don't regret buying this now, after so many years. i still like the sound of these girls' voices and their music. :3 and how long has it been since i've bought a cd whose packaging amused me and made me go squee anyway? x3 probably never! (okay, so Eraserheads' Fruitcake is an exception. xD and maybe Linkin Park's boxed Meteora...god how i drooled. xDD)
i got the japanese release of Illumina, so i dunno if this is unique to that release. see, the case is clear, and inside the part where the back leaflet is supposed to go, there is NO leaflet, but instead, there are confetti stars. the sparkley kind. yep. you read that right. SHINEH STARS~~ <3 totally up my alley~ x3 (i dont have a pic at the moment, but hopefully, my IR would stop being a bitch soon and let me transfer the pic i took with my phone. >_>)
anyway~ it's really amusing and it made me smile. :3
i actually still want to get a copy of Japanese Dream, their Japan-only album (i liked one of the songs there, at least the only one i could find a copy of online looooong ago...). but for now, i'll be happy with Illumina. xP
ps.
did you know one of the songs in Illumina has an Alice in Wonderland reference? :D
pps.
i remember one (or two) of my highschool male classmates used to laugh at me for mentioning that i owned a copy of Alisha's Attic's first album (Alisha Rules The World). I never mentioned the name again in front of them, but never abandoned the music i liked. to hell with those stupid boys. the lyrics and beats were good (and pretty insane). xD i guess in a way, you could say that this was as far as i could get into english pop music (sans Backstreet Boys, since hey, it was during my generation after all). All of the cds that followed that was only one of two types and then anime music. you'd laugh if you saw my cd collection on the shelf. you'd see a whole row of japanese anime osts then get hit by Jay-Z, Eminem, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit... *rofl* you'd wonder if the person living in that room has a split personality...or a brother. xD;; (i still love my cds tho. i get this nostalgic feeling every time i hear those songs...)

I watched the musical [FROGS] the last Monday, not knowing anything about it, other than Aoyagi Ruito (TenMyu’s Mukahi Gakuto of Hyoutei) was in it.
Which means I went “Eh? Is that Doori? O_o” (3rd Cast Echizen Ryoma) and “Are? Tomi?!” (Yamabuki’s Muromachi) ^^;
That and I was surprised I actually understood what the musical was about. LOL. (yes, this still surprises me since I never really got beyond basic Japanese in school xD) So, minus the really complicated sentences, I could understand what the plot was, what was going on, etc. I do wish that I understood all of the Blue Frog’s (I’m so sorry! T_T I forgot your name T_T and to think, I liked his chara too…) sudden outbursts. I know they were puns and word-play stuff, I could get that much xD but since I like puns and word-play and all that stuff, hearing him suddenly launch into random outbursts really made me want pursue the whole ‘I need to advance my Jap skills!!!!111!!eleventy!1’ (not that I’m not, mind you, it’s just…a lot slower studying on my own…if you can even call it studying… ^^;; )
otaku foreigner, you know how it goes xD)
I re-watched all the TeniMyus again… and I mean really watched, like with full attention, unlike my last re-watching session where I was actually multi-tasking rather than watching/listening what was being said. Anyway, it really does amaze me how much I missed dialogue-wise the first time I watched them… that and Kabaji being called Buchou-dairi (“substitute captain”--since Atobe wasn’t physically present in DoriRai 4th) is still stuck in my head. xD
WARNING: May contain spoilers...no wait... contains information that might make you want to watch AG Myu SRR anyway. LOL. (that, and i'm late in watching anyway. XD)
I watched AG Myu last night (you know, around midnight….) and died. No, actually, I squeed THEN died. xD I couldn’t hold it back. I mean… Romeo and Juliet… the almost-kiss wasn’t just an almost-kiss. *ROFL* KYAAAAAAAA~ xDD MY GOD THEY’RE INSANEEEEEEEE~~~ *LOLz* ジュリエット~ 好き~<3 xP
Hai! End update! (else I’ll just go on and on and on…. :P)

the week has been kind~ XD
. . .
ok...maybe it hasn't totally been kind... [damn tests & papers! >,>]
but heck! i'm happy, so who cares about the rest right? XD
for one thing, i got to watch The Diary of Anne Frank at The Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.
a PLAY people! after SIXTEEN damn months of stage play deprivation! TTwTT me ish happy neko~!
and i am also happy that i finally got to at least familiarize myself with the story (reality, actually) that is The Diary of Anne Frank. i have somehow steered clear away from this book, knowing that it was written by a child during the Nazi era... the thought that this book contained a reality i wouldn't dare touch, more out of fear than anything else, had me skipping the book on the shelves of bookstores and libraries. it was one of those books that i'd only read if i be required it in class...
i'm not being mean or unrealistic as some would possibly say, i'm just saying that anything that is about war or Nazi torture and suffering isn't my cup of tea. i can't even watch war movies.
Yes, you heard/read that right. i CAN'T.
why? because it isn't just another story for me. it isn't just another movie, another book... (no matter that it based on truth or fiction)... to me, it is all so real.
call me insane, call me crazy. whatever. but i can't. maybe i was dragged into a war before. maybe i was forced to kil... maybe, i was one of those who suffered a slow death on (or even off) the battle field. who knows. but whatever feelings i have..whatever feelings surface when i watch/read... i don't want to see that... i don't want it.
Anyway, that aside, let me go the next happy thing that happened this week. (today, actually.)
Brighouse Library has finally gotten Gaiman's new book! and i am the first to borrow it! XD ALL HAIL! XD too bad some bastard decided to borrow it right after me. >_< i wanted to at least savor 2 months (preferrably longer) of temporary ownership of the wonderfully hard-bound copy. *sigh* at least i get first dibs, yes? *sniffs new book's pages* ah~ so good~ X3 (i was reading it already as i walked out the library doors, down the street and into our appartment. LOL.)
...though i now regret not bringing the rest of my books with me... i wanted to leaf through American Gods again, since Nancy was still alive in that particular book...and i can't remember if they mentioned anything about him being married and having kids...damn! i wanna know!!! *sniffle* i miss my books terribly....
so, with all that said, i shall go back to reading as i have to return this book by the 12th of November.
(if you think that's still a long ways, i'd have to remind you that i am a full-time college student and i'm so poor i can't even go into Chapters to buy myself a new book. thank you very much.)
P.S.
i guess Bram Stoker's Dracula (i love th e cover!) and Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell will have to wait a bit long on my shelf now... sorry guys. ^^;
P.P.S.
i found Sally Mae! XD (uy! speciall meantion!) she's one of my old highschool friends whom i infected with fanfics. all hail the girl with impossibly long hair! (hanggang ngayon ba?)
